“It is our true nature as human beings to live in the present moment, to be naturally aware, and to respond from a place of awakened curiosity, intuition, and innate wisdom.
It is also human nature to forget this birth-rite and see ourselves as separate or disconnected from self, our passion and direction. Through the business of our lives, societal pressure, personal histories and entangled thinking, this can appear true, but is not a reality.
Horses and nature allow us access and guidance to “come home” to our own true nature and reconnect with the essence of ourselves, beyond the limitations of our personal mind, revealing our connection and relationship to everyone and everything around us.”
- Cassandra Ogier, The Reflective Horse

Our work is guided by four core principles:
NATURE AS HEALER
We recognize the transformative power of nature, particularly through horses, as an active partner in the healing process.
EMBODIED HEALING
We believe healing spaces must be accessible to all women, especially those from marginalized communities.
ACCESSIBILITY AND INCLUSION
We practice a somatic, trauma-informed approach rooted in presence, awakening the body's innate healing intelligence.
COLLECTIVE TRANSFORMATION
We understand that individual healing creates ripple effects, connecting personal transformation to broader social and environmental change.

What Makes Riding Wild Transformative
We combine healing and adventure through a unique approach that empowers women and protects nature:
Science-Supported Healing Experiences: These include Mindful Riding, Equine Guided Empowerment, Integrative Breathwork, and Somatic-Based Yoga.
Full Sponsorships: We provide full scholarships for BIPOC and local Indigenous women, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility.
Trauma-Informed Spaces: Our programs are specifically designed for women, fostering safety, trust, and personal growth.
Partnership with Nature: Experiences like soaking in hot springs, practicing yoga nidra, and engaging with the mirroring wisdom of horses enhance the healing journey.
Somatic, Trauma-Informed Methodology: Rooted in presence, our approach empowers participants to reconnect with their intuition, process trauma, and cultivate a sense of agency and authenticity.

Impact
Our impact extends from individual transformation to collective healing:
Scholarships given: We will have awarded 12 full scholarships to BIPOC and Indigenous women, gifting them the opportunity to join on our transformative journeys in Greenland and the Sierra Nevada.
Empowered Participants: Participants report rediscovering belonging, deepening cultural connections, experiencing healing and finding personal empowerment. These experiences often spark a renewed sense of purpose, inspiring them to take meaningful action in their communities and beyond.
Rippled effects: Healed women become leaders and changemakers in their communities, inspiring broader social change. Our sponsorships not only empower women but also pave the way for future partnerships and opportunities, creating a lasting impact that extends far beyond the individual.
Protection: Our programs are rooted in environmental advocacy and the preservation of wild ecosystems. By riding in remote locations like Greenland and Patagonia, we partner with local, family-owned outfitters who are dedicated to protecting their lands. Through storytelling, we inspire meaningful connection and action to preserve these landscapes for future generations.

SPONSORSHIP TESTIMONIALS

“I came back from this journey with new energy and new resources to fight my battles. This journey reminded me how to come back to my body from my mind. It strengthened my ability to listen to myself, and what my needs are. It was so freeing and nice to be vulnerable without getting judged. I had been so lost and confused before, so I think I will be forever grateful for this opportunity to come at the right time. And I am honesty surprised how much my wellbeing improved after the journey, because I had thought that it would take more time to recover when I reflect on how much I had been struggling."

“Attending Riding Wild in Greenland was deeply transformative. I had set intentions to heal, reflect, and embrace my authentic self. While horses have been central to my healing in the past, they had become inaccessible in recent years. This year, I felt called to reconnect with them and seek their support once more. As an Indigenous woman from the Southwest, I felt honored to connect with Inuit women in Greenland and learn from their culture. Healing in reciprocity with the land, water, and sky allowed me to carry profound lessons into the next chapter of my life. Applying somatic techniques like movement, breathwork, and mindfulness has rebuilt my relationships with horses and transformed how I walk through the world.”

“As an Indigenous guide I was a bit skeptical of Aniela's sponsorship and it turned out to be the best thing to happen all year. I can't recall any other time I trusted someone so quickly, it was extremely refreshing to meet someone who is so genuinely authentic, kind and caring, someone who wants to create and give opportunities for someone like myself. As a non-binary, it was clear I was welcomed and seen. It was also the first time I ever felt comfort and belonging in sisterhood. As someone who doesn't have a lot of experience with horse riding Aniela was reassuring and very helpful. Her mindfulness shows in every aspect of what she does, and it is contagious. There was a reawakening I welcomed back into my life through this experience."

Belief
At Riding Wild, we believe that profound healing and empowerment emerge through the intersection of nature and community. When women—especially those from marginalized communities—are given equitable access to trauma-informed spaces in nature, they can reconnect with their innate wisdom and strength. This creates ripples of transformation that extend from individual healing to community renewal and environmental protection.
Challenges
Women, particularly those from BIPOC and Indigenous communities, face significant barriers to accessing healing spaces and connecting with nature. These barriers highlight a critical need for trauma-informed, accessible environments where women can reconnect with themselves and the natural world. At Riding Wild, we recognize that individual well-being is inseparable from our connection to the natural world. Both personal and environmental healing must be addressed together through an intersectional lens to achieve holistic and lasting transformation.
Solution
Riding Wild is a 501 (c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to providing transformative healing journeys in nature. By integrating personal and collective healing with intersectional environmentalism, our mission is to empower women by offering safe, accessible spaces to reconnect with themselves and the natural world. This is more than just a riding trip—it's an inward journey crafted through partnerships with family-owned outfitters to foster connection and empowerment.

MINDFUL RIDING
Mindful riding is the practice of riding in a state of meditation through developing a present connection of mutual trust with your horse. Riding in this state of trust, presence and openness allows the rider to receive countless somatic benefits by being held by an intuitive, pure, and grounded sentient being. The rider will learn about their own energy through slowing down enough to see how they communicate and in turn receive messages from their horse’s body language and energy. They will tap into the naturally meditative energy of horses and sensitize their intuition, the ability to energetically communicate, and connect with their true nature.

INTEGRATIVE BREATHWORK
The practice of breathwork is a journey of cultivating awareness in the body through the presence of breath. Practicing breathwork allows the body’s natural wisdom to cleanse, heal, and re-center the nervous system. Through the exploration of breath you can release tension and trauma that have become embedded within the body. Breathwork serves as the bridge into the present moment and into expanded states of consciousness. This practice creates new internal pathways for safety and connection, which supports you to receive life with more awareness and authenticity.
